（1）国际足球联合会(International Federation of Association Football,Fédération internationale de football association,FIFA)
简称国际足联,由比利时、法国、丹麦、西班牙、瑞典、荷兰和瑞士倡议,于1904年5月21日在法国巴黎成立。现有协会会员204个。

国际足联下设欧、亚、非、中北美和加勒比、南美、大洋洲6个地区性组织。

国际足联执委会是日常工作的领导机构,由主席、7名副主席、16名委员、秘书长及其副手共24人组成。
国际足联下设15个专门委员会:财务委员会、世界杯组委会、联合会杯组委会、奥运会足球赛组委会、国际足联青年比赛委员会、室内足球委员会、女子足球委员会、裁判委员会、技术委员会、运动医务委员会、运动员身份委员会、法律事务委员会、安全与公正竞赛委员会、媒体委员会、礼仪委员会。
国际足联秘书处下设3个部:技术部、财务部和发展部。
世界杯是国际足联的主要营销手段,有巨大的观众群体。通过门票、电视转播权、赞助、交易而获得巨额经济收益。此外,部分经费来自会费和参赛报名费。
国际足联组织的赛事主要有:世界杯足球赛(1930年开始,4年一届)、奥运会足球赛(1912年被正式列为奥运会项目,4年一届)、世界青年足球锦标赛(即可口可乐杯赛,1977年开始,两年一届)、17岁以下世界锦标赛(1985年开始,两年一届)、五人足球世界锦标赛、世界女子足球锦标赛。
国际足联的正式刊物是《足联新闻》,每月一期,内容包括:编辑部文章、裁判问题分析、协会会员消息、研究成果、比赛成绩、各委员会和代表大会的总结和国际比赛的进展、比赛日程及其信息等。
为了保证世界和地区性比赛具有高水平的裁判,国际足联经常举办国际裁判员训练班。
中国30年代加入国际足联，1958年由于国际足联也承认所谓“中华民国足球协会”为其会员，中国足协宣布退出。1979年，中国足协在国际足联的合法席位得到恢复。
